At Diedrichs, we use state of the art CAD software such as Pro/ENGINEER® for computer modeling. With the addition of the Pro/PIPING® tool, we have the ability to design routed systems for fluid and electrical lines. Creating accurate computer models of parts makes the design process more efficient by allowing quick design changes to be made. Sharing digital images and prints of pictures also makes it easier to obtain feedback throughout the design process.
We design routed system bundles of piping and cables for use on a variety of agricultural and construction equipment. The bundles are composed of electrical cables or of variably sized lines carrying hydraulic and coolant fluids at different temperatures and pressures. Bundles have several significant advantages over individually placed lines:
- Reduce vehicle assembly time since they are pre-assembled and ready for placement.
- Provide a rigid arrangement that is less susceptible to vibration problems.
- Create more consistency among vehicles by giving workers more control over the positioning of piping.
- CAD models allow further simulation studies in fluid dynamics, such as varying line lengths to avoid vibration at pump frequencies.
