Peter Wetrich: Mechanical Engineer

Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University (1959)

Peter is an expert in design of transmissions for agricultural tractors. For 44 years, he worked at John Deere’s Product Engineering Center analyzing problems and designing concepts for transmission projects. Peter has a detailed knowledge of axle design and assembly, castings, gear box, drive shafts and PTO design.

Background

Peter joined John Deere after graduating from college. As a design engineer, he traveled to Germany, Spain and Japan to solve special problems related to transmission design.

At Diedrichs & Associates, Peter works on special projects for agricultural manufacturers, specializing in tractor analysis and design.

Additional Information

Peter is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), a member of the Board of Friends of the UNI Museums and a part of the Executive Board of the Winnebago Council of Boy Scouts. In his free time, Peter enjoys flower gardening, traveling and construction work.
