Duane Powell: Designer

Education: AAS Drafting and Designing Technology (1991) from Hawkeye Community College

Duane has been a PRO/E Modeler and Designer for 16 years, with experience in appliances and agricultural equipment.

Background

While attending Hawkeye Community College, Duane worked part time in the John Deere drafting pool. He expereinced the transition from working on a drawing board to working with computer aided design (CAD). He then worked on home appliances for Amana Refrigeration and later at John Deere working on a wide variety of tractor components and systems. For a time he worked as a support person, helping other engineers and designers learn to use Cadam and ProEngineer. At Diedrichs, he has worked on the developmetn of products, agricultural and construction machinery and special machines.

Over his career, Duane has worked on a number of projects and technical problems. The following illustrates the variety of projects and technical investigations he has worked on:

Design/Modeling of off-road vehicles

Design/model and coordinate build of special self propelled vehicle for in-field measurement of crop conditions.

Design/model and coordinate prototype build of new cooling package- radiatior, oil and coolant cores, hoses and lines- for large off-road vehicle
