As a senior tractor mechanic and test technician, Ray has worked on tractors and related equipment for nearly 50 years. Most of his career was at John Deere where he began as a machine operator, moved to the assembly line, and worked as a repair utility person.

Background

Ray transferred to the Product Engineering Center where he worked in a variety of testing activities testing all aspects of tractors including components, transmissions, hydraulic systems, engines, cabs and tracked vehicles. Building on his broad experience, Ray moved to the experimental farm where he tested tractors and supported field test operations.

Since 1977, at Diedrichs & Associates, Inc. Ray has worked on a wide variety of new product development and experimental machine projects. Some examples are:

• Wide Area Mower
   - Worked on assembly and test of seven prototype mowers
   - Helped maintain a log of field changes in support of design revisions
